For Presbyteries

Thank you for your interest in the Jarvie Program, which offers age-friendly care and support to older adults the New York City area. We’re happy to provide information that may help you determine if members of your congregation are eligible to become Jarvie beneficiaries.

Potential program beneficiaries must be recommended by someone representing their church congregation, preferably a pastor or a church nurse/social worker. Self-referrals are not permitted.

The program requires participants to live in or close to New York City. For churches that are part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), all congregations located in the presbyteries of New York and Northeast New Jersey may refer church members to the Jarvie program, if the members meet the requirements. You can read more about those requirements here.

Churches in the following presbyteries may be eligible, depending on location:

  • Hudson River Presbytery
  • Presbytery of Long Island
  • Presbytery of New York City
  • Presbytery of Northeast New Jersey
  • Presbytery of Southern New England
  • Presbytery of the Coastlands
  • Presbytery of the Highlands of New Jersey

Please reach out to Rev. Shelley Gardner, Jarvie Chaplain, at shelley.gardner@presbyterianfoundation.org, if you’d like to know to more.
